Zhang Xiaomang on the Norms of Academic Writing

On the 14th of March, Professor Zhang Xiaomang from NankaiUniversity gave a lecture on the norms of academic writing. Professor Zhang discussed the problem in four aspects: 1. the norms in the use of words; 2. the norms in the use of punctuations; the norms in the style of references; 4. the norms in the form of reference. He emphasised particularly on the second and the third problems. The students responded very well to Professor Zhang’s lecture, said that they learnt a lot of things which they never realised before.
