Wei Benqun
Assistant Professor of Philosophy, Nankai University
Email weibenqun@hotmail.com
Professor Wei has obtained a PhD degree in Philosophy from The Chinese University of Hong Kong, a Master’s degree in Philosophy from Fudan University, and a Bachelor’s degree in Philosophy from Jilin University. He joined the Department of Philosophy of Nankai University in December 2018.
Professor Wei’s main area of research is metaethics. In particular, he is interested in arguing for and against a quietist form of moral realism, according to which objective moral facts/properties are not to be understood in metaphysical terms and the objectivity of morality should be established by first-order normative reasoning. Apart from that, he also works on the ethical thought of Bernard Williams and Xunzi.
